Praise for this book
Written in first person, this book has the ability to grab you for the discomfort it can cause. The romance made me smile, I loved the characters. The generous nature of the story drew me in. It was the topic of the mystery that made me writhe a little. I look forward to seeing how successive books make me feel.
It’s rare to find an urban fantasy that handles both the magical and the mundane so well. Daniel’s struggles feel real, and the coin, rather than being just a tool for wish fulfillment, brings its own dangers. I appreciated how the story didn’t take the easy route—there are real consequences for every choice Daniel makes. The pacing is tight, and the prose is immersive. By the end, I wasn’t just invested in the mystery of the coin, but in Daniel himself. Fantastic storytelling!
